COVID-19 POLICY
EXPOSURE
If an exposure to someone who tests positive for COVID occurs in the Day School, we will notify all close contacts immediately. We will also send a school-wide notification in Brightwheel, letting parents know that there has been a positive case.
We will no longer require close contacts to quarantine at home or in the classroom. Regular classroom hours and activities will continue following exposure.
Day School Teachers and Staff who have been exposed to COVID are required to wear a mask while in the Day School for 10 days following the last date of exposure.
ISOLATION
A child who tests positive is required to stay home from school for the 10 day isolation period. Day 0 is the first date of symptoms or the date of the positive test result. Children are required to stay home for the full isolation period because they cannot effectively wear a mask while at school.
A staff member who tests positive is required to stay home for 5 days and may return if fever-free for 24 hours. A face mask is required to be worn for an additional 5 days.
EXPOSURE NOTIFICATIONS TO PARENTS
COVID-19 is no longer required to be reported to the Dallas County Health Department unless we experience a high rate of illness. Parents will be notified when their child has been exposed in the classroom. We will no longer send school-wide notifications.
